clutch
hi can anyone help i have a 2000 v reg 406 1.8lx the clutch makes a loud squeaking noise when i push the pedal to the floor.i think it might be the thrust bearing but i'm not sure has anybody had similar problems.Also how much would it cost to have a new clutch fitted.thanks for any replies,Darren

if it sounds like its comming from the pedal then it could be the assiter spring fitted to the pedal, take out the carpet above the pedals and give it a good soaking in wd40, a new clutch on your car would be:
labour 4.1 hours @ £84 an hour +vat (dealer rate)
clutch kit about £150 +vat
= £494.40 +vat = £580.92
thats approximatley what a dealer would charge
