Is anyone breaking a HDI, I need some advice!

Post by bigjohn333 »

Check Engine Light Again!

Turns out the Electrovalve for the turn had gone!

Swapped with the EGR and Boost is back just waiting for the light to clear itself since Launch won't!

Other problem is from February car needs to have FAP fitted!

Previous owner chopped out the Cat and Fap assembly and binned it!

Anyone got a CAT/FAP Shell I can have fitted.

So to sum it up.

I'm looking for a number of electrovalves and a dpf/cat shell..

Any help appreciated.

Sorry to be a pain.

Also the Exhaust Temp Sensor for the Cat is missing and shows in the fault log.

Same with the Air Doser Solenoid

For the electrovalves, they're only about £25 new from Pug and they'll be good for the long time, with second hand ones you run the risk of the same thing happening again! So I'd get a new one for your turbo.

I still have my now bypassed air-doser in the trailer - I think the 2 electrovalves are still attached but I have no idea if they work - you are welcome to them if you want to take a chance. If yours is de-fapped then as long as your EVs are plugged in then ECU should be happy, whether they work or not.

Cats and Faps are not required on diesels, and the new MOT rules will be stricter on cars made after 2008, so you don't need it. If it is causing an error message then you may just need to flash a new map with the dosers/fap written out of it.

FWIW, mine passed the MOT this week without the FAP, (though it looks standard). 8)

I think the physical canister has been removed which is likely to cause a fail, so he's after an empty one. That's how I read it anyway! :cheesy:

Hi Guys.

Yeah just need an empty canister to pass the MOT.

ATM it's just a straight pipe welded in.

Don't need any of the electrovalves. Swapped the EGR one over with the turbo one and got rid of the rest!

No check engine light happy days
