Turbo not spooling up, and no vacuum.

Post by cooperpug406 »

Hi all,

I have a Peugeot 406 HDi 110, 2000.

Been running fine until yesterday, no power when pulling off from an island,
anyway car still got up to speed just took a little longer, although it held 70mph no problem on the motorway.
When we pulled up back home i popped the bonnet and noticed there is no pressure in the turbo/intercooler pipes. (No pipes are expanding)
We put a obd2 meter on the the car, and no faults popped up, after i took it for a spin the engine management light popped on. Got the reader back on and fault code P0243, Faulty wastegate solenoid a. So swapped the solenoid/electro valve with one of the other two, and no change. :(
Any one able to offer any advice, or anything i can try to get it fixed, got hols in a week, and cant drive it 200+ miles as it is.

the wastegate solenoid is diffrent from the other two as the wastegate solenoid is pulse with modulated instead of open or closed like the egr one

Is there a way to tell the difference between the solenoids?

Ok its sorted,

Turns out the vacuum hose under the Brake servo had a major split, couldn't here the air release because it was on the joint. Luckily I had some spare hose left from a project, fitted it and my Turbo came alive :cheesy:
Gave it a rev and had a massive a mount of black smoke, but after a good run its cleared and running sweet as a nut, just a service left to do now.
