Anyone ever used one of these to repair the 406 hdi 110 flexi section?

I figured I might be able to remove the flexi and cat, cut out the broken flexi with a hacksaw and clamp this in its place. What with some careful-ish measurements along the way.
Its either that, or a new type approved one for best part of £90.
I cant weld, and I cant be without the car during working hours. Hence not taking the offending part to a garage to weld a new flexi in for me.
I also dont believe the cat on there at the moment is the original one. I couldn't make out a PSA part number on it anywhere, so I doubt its worth any money. Otherwise, I'd have considered replacing it for brand new part, knowing full well selling the old cat would pay for the lot plus more.
Last but not least, I am aware that the flexi having gone indicates movement in the engine bushes, but from my inspection they look ok. So maybe thats been foxed previously, but they left the exhaust. (Ive not had the car long, and its missing history)

Re: Flexi repair option
Managed to get a type approved cat front section including flexi from eurocarparts for £70 today.
Will fit it myself and then scrap the old one for whatever its worth.

Re: Flexi repair option

Managed to change them over.
Pig of a job to get it to seal properly.
Turns out the reason its gone is not the engine mount as first suspected. Its the fact that the middle to back box section is missing a hanger altogether. So the flexi is taking up the strain.
There is a hanger on the chassis, but none on the exhaust. So thats awkward.
looks like I'll have to find somesort of universal clamp on hanger or something now, cos im not going through the hassle of getting one welded. I'm very surprised its missing to be fair
