CAT do I need one

Post by johntl »

The cat on my 110 hdi is nackered
Q. Is it going to be regulated that if the car was fitted with one when made you need one to pass its test ?
Or can I cut it out and get piece of pipe welded in ?

If a cat was fitted as standard then it must be present.

£200 for the old'un is slightly unrealistic. You could cut the top off the cat, weld in a pipe then weld the top back on the cat. Win Win :)

The scrap one is only worth something if it is a K202 or something...

You can take the duff one off and beat the insides out, and refit it as an empty cat.... :supafrisk:
