I've got the "brake fluid low" warning on my 406 2.0hdi estate aswell.. did you figure out what the problem was? I get the the message every time I use the handbreak and also every time I start the car

The most common fault is the handbrake microswitch under the centre console - this can be swapped with the one in the glove box that turns the light on ( yes, really..! ) to eliminate the switch as the fault.

NVM.. It was quite easy unscrewing the centre console and lift it up. Replacing the handbrake switch with the one i the glove box worked perfectly and solved the problem
