Just returned from a journey and 4th gear suddenly started acting up! Noticed the change from 3rd to 4th resulted in a crunch, but most of the time the gear stick seems to hit a stop and I have to force it in gear. Other times (less often) it will engage smoothly. This has suddenly come on tonight so maybe it is the gear a change rod(s) that have come loose, or is it something more sinister?
Clutch bite is very high I only have to lightly press clutch and it will slip so I do not think it is anything related to not disengaging clutch properly..
Was in a rush to get home so just missed 4th and went straight to 5th from 3rd but will try double de-clutch tomorrow to rule out syncro, and then will check oil on Friday afternoon...
All other gears are fine.
Anyone had this issue?
