2.1td Tank Breather

Post by Uberderv »

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has a diagram of the tank breather system? It must be blocked because when I fill up too fast the car likes to regurgitate the fuel all over me, back wheel and road :|

Cheers :cheesy:

Have you tried to let the air out when you put the fuel in - as in - leave a gap and don't push the filler all the way in, and fill slowly?

It looks like the fuel goes into the tank at the bottom, tank vent comes out the top of the tank and out to the filler neck, just behind the surround.

Maybe there is a blockage?

Perfect, thanks. I can pour it in slowly but as I use WVO it just means I'm exposed to whatever our fine English weather is doing at the time.
I go through 25L every 3 days so I'm out there a fair bit. I wonder what that pipe goes to above the door? It does look like the breather goes to the neck, and there appears to be a small opening to the RHS of my filler neck.
I might try and shove a tube down it and blow it out.
