Low SAPS oil? Non 406

Post by gumby6371 »

I need to do an oil change on the 307 which uses 5/30 C2 low saps stuff and was wondering whether to do a bulk buy and use it on the Megane as well.
Technically the Megane doesn't need the low SAPS stuff but would the low carbon stuff help or hinder?
In my head using low SAPS should prevent carbon build up in the intake and prolong EGR and turbo life etc but I have no idea whether using normal 5/30 helps in other ways.

Thoughts please

Cheers

I would ask Opie Oils (Oilman) for a recommendation personally, they are very helpful.

If you've got rid of the dpf on the 307 I believe you don't need don't need the low saps anymore, same as the 2.2. I've just used standard comma 5w30 fully synthetic on mine.

I never have used it. 5W30 or 5W40 fully synth is all I use.
