Looks as if I'm going to have to do this conversion as I can't find a Lucas Epic anywhere.
I was wondering if the conversion mentioned here was successful and if there're any tips / heads ups which might be worth passing on to my mechanic.
Is it really an engine out job and must the loom and injectors be changed?
thanks in advance

You might be better off using a mechanical 2.1 pump from and XM then you dont have to worry about electrics. These pumps are virtually bomb proof, I ran XMs for over 15 years and never had a pump problem and a couple of them had done around 300k. Never tried one with veg oil though, I would imagine that the usual seal problems would arise. There are not many XMs about but you can find them, I have scrapped three in the last couple of years.

You really need a Bosch but I think most of them are anyway, most of mine were Mk 2s and all used the Bosch pump. Needs to be '96 or before though as they changed over to the dreadful EPIC pump around that time.
