The resistance in the inertia switch is furthermore very low. So it dørs not seem to be the sinner.

If it only clicked ones that would suggest it had been triggered.

It might be when I closed the hood. Sine the resistance is low.

+1.
If it clicked then its been triggers.

When u put the ignition on can u hear the lift pump in tank?
If not get a mat/peice of cardboard. and crawl under and give the tank a good thump with your hand ..

Is there actually enough fuel in there?.

The fuel gauges tell lies on these things..so don't trust the gauge.

Let us start with the inerty switch: it is only triggered by force/velocity, right? Not by sparks or other electrical problems. If there is no resistance across the switch, I assume it gives no problem at all.

The pump is not turning or humming, as it gets too little voltage. It will not help hitting the tank, I guess.

I know there is plenty of fuel down there (+50 liters).

Resistance?

The inertia switch only cuts the ' negative feed'.

It has been known on here...that giving the tank a thump sometimes bring a lift pump back to life...

Yes, resistance. Meassuring the resistance across the inerty switch to almost 0 ohm means the switch is not cutting of the connection.

Tomorrow I will try to feed the pump manually with 12 volt and I bet it will turn.

Update: Against my believing it was indeed the in tank fuel pump. After replacing the pump the engine startet first time without bleeding the fuel system. I got a engine failure light in the dashboard though (related to fuel system), but I cleared the fault in PP2000 and got no problems now.

It was quite simple until I realized the fuel level indicator showed no fuel. So I had to get new pump removed again and I had tightened the union nut too tight
Bottom line, I got the pump removed again, got the indicator arm released, got the pump refitted and the engine running :cheesy:

Your lucky then. 8)

' maybe its been out before:.

Some people on here have resorted to cutting back some metal to get the pumps out.
