You did mention previously that your engine revs its nuts off when you squirted the cleaner in, maybe there could be damage done by over-revving - I hope not though..

Before you Chuck the towel in..what have you got to loose by
Blanking the egr?

its fine when warm
thought about blanking egr but lto clear out holes ooks a bugger to get to pins rusted to fook and threaded to base ,so knowing my luck will shear pins and cant get access to redrill holes

with any of the advice/suggestions given. Including your advice to unplug the MAF. That's about
2 minutes, even if you have to make room for the plug to come out.
