Hi there
I am having the famous idling problem on my 2litre petrol 406..1999
I have cleaned the throttle body replaced the MAP sensor, TPS and the stepper motor and still no joy. Going to try the temp sensor next but when I was cleaning I noticed a third sensor attached to the throttle body and when I removed it gave me the impression it was a bit dead. Can anyone Identify this third sensor for me. IT is located by the throttle control ( where the accelerator cable connects) and is held on by one screw. Inside it are two springs one conical the other normal and the normal one has a brass contact/pin at one end. I have attached a photo of its position on the body.
Many thanks for your help

Looks like No.13 = 1920 8Y Air temperature probe
(info from Peugeot Asia version of Service Box)https://catalogs.ssg.asia/peugeot/?lang ... aWVyPT0%3D
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Re: Throttle body sensors
Thanks for your answer
I reckon you are right but it doesn't look like the ones that are for sale. They don't have the springs or the brass pin..and they are don't seem to be held in with a bolt ....I will check it out at the local breakers tomorrow or tuesday or never if the temperature sensor works tomorrow
