406 sri turbo problems halting at speed and high revs

this problem is doing my head in you put your foot down in 3rd gear get to about 3 4000 revs the engine managment light will come on then the car will jam (halt stop ) for a second then will carry on going it also does this when you reach high speeds plllleeeeeaaaaasssseeee help me cheers pete :evil:

get the fault codes read, but the favorite is the turbo control solenoid

had the codes read but the code reader couldnt pick the car up (what a pain in arse)

was it a snap on one or one of them ones of ebay?
what diagnostic socket does your car have? OBD1 or the 32 way brown plug?

it was a snap on one and it is the 32 way plug

there is a way to read the codes without any code reader with that plug, ill have a look in the book at work, you can buy a code reader for about £20 from halfrauds but it aint worth it really

oh and by the way, the snap on scanner is utter shite, i dont think ive seen it work on one car yet

I had this, and I mean it was a proper pug / cit diiagnostic machine....... it cocks everything up! and you wonder why you have electrical probs lol
Replacement ECU :shock: or if your lucky a spare one like me :D

It's over boosting, as James said....... good lad you! ( WCS ) Wastegate Control Solinoid :D Common fault... cheap fix though :| honest.... nah its not that much and well worth it !

Your lucky most people that are buying tubs are ending up with siezed tubs ! :D

Well 'urry up and be right about how to read codes without a reader then :P Dammit you can't catch my attention like that then forget about it :cry:
