petrol cambelt

Post by richiereality »

yo guys

Thanks to your advise ive sorted my tick over problem so this w/end im going to do the other job ive been putting off - the cam belt.

my pug is a R plate 2.0 16v (i think its a d8 but i really dont know) Ive done a few cambelts in the past but never a pug so what i want to know is do you fit just a belt or do 406's have to have a new tensioner kit aswell?

Ive put a belt on a 16v mondeo and it took me about an hour and half, does anyone know how the two jobs compair, am i looking at about the same sort fitting time?

cheers

replace the tensioner and the idler and the water pump as well, you will have the RFV engine which eats water pumps, the entire XU engine range does but the RFV seems the worst, there was a brief picture guide somewhere, ill try and dig it out

jameslxtd you are a star

The thing with me is i used to be a fitter (not shitfit or any of the other big rip off centres) about 8 years ago and i hate paying for labour on a job when ive got half an idea how to do it myself.
