I did this job last year and it was much easier than I expected! It took me only a couple of hours and cost £14.86 for the bush (part no 180930 and called a 'flexible bush') from the dealers. I think factors like GSF sell them for half that.

Haynes tells you to remove the halfshaft and the casting to change the bush, but I just sawed through the rubber/steel bush (being careful not to cut into the alloy casting), then tapped it out with a drift. I pressed the new bush in using a home made puller (a large nut and bolt and 2 pieces of flat steel). Hope this helps.

My rear mount gas gone. I noticed it when I did the oil change, the rubber contact points in the bush had torn through allowing more engine movement.

The symptoms are a bit more engine movement (like when you rev it from idle). Some juddering on take off. And some vibration when the car 'crests' a hill under load and takes the wieght off the mount for a second.

It's not good to have too much engine movement though because it can pull on your hoses/wires a bit too much.

My symptoms were much like Welton's, but I also noticed that the gearstick was moving around alot more than it used to when accelerating/deaccelerating in traffic. Like Welton, I spotted the cause of the problem while doing an oil change - the 2 rubber webs connecting the bush centre to the outer rim had almost cracked right through.
