Engine problem

Post by russell »

Hi
I have a 2003 100bhp estate. Just stopped engine due to what sounds like exhaust sound coming from inter cooler pipe, very loud popping when pipe is removed from inter cooler. Has any body got any ideas.

Thanks Russell

The ducting for the inlet goes all the way around the engine, maybe it's come off somewhere else too.

I've no idea what could be making that, apart from a pipe coming ondone - EGR??

They are pretty noisy if you disconnect the inlet anywhere, the top pipe came off my 2.1 (left the clamp loose, silly boy) and it sounded like a tank. Didn't go too well either.

I suppose the easiest way to tell if it is something to do with the exhaust is to get it going and stick your hand over the tail pipe.
