A lot of smeg in the inlet manifold!

Post by ed209 »

I have a lot of sticky tar like smeg in the inlet manifold of my d8 diesel, its like a mix of old oil and dusty smeg!

How/why did it get there?
Should I be concerned?

Any ideas folks? :?:

its all the coke and carbon from the egr system, you could remove it and clean it out with some petrol, then disconnect the EGR, you will be quite supprised at the results

A neighbour of ours has one, nice piece of kit but sodding hooooge . I'm still not past "smirk mode" whenever I see it - you sure could keep a lot of smeg in there!
