My car is the 90hp 2.0 hdi model..... I seem to be getting 500 miles to 65ltrs. Roughly 35mpg.
I only drive this car in the evenings mainly, where it is normally driven for only 5-10miles, and stops for 2-4 hours, then drives back again. (not the best economical driving I know). But is it worth servicing it? I've only had the car since November, and I must admit, even though the driving I do is not the most economical, I was expecting it to be a little better than what I used to get from my beloved 309 mi16'd Goodwood!
Any thoughts or mpg stats that you guys get are fully welcome
It all depends where you drive, mainly around town driving then 35mpg is about right as thats all I get from my 110bhp 406.
If you are mainly on motorways driving 70mph or less then you should get 45mpg.

2000 W Ford Transit LWB High Roof 2.5D

1995 N E36 BMW 328i Saloon (Spare Parts Car)

i would say 35 is about right for a 90 on short town runs
i can just about pull off 40 in my 110 driving for arround 30 mins arround town like an old woman

Ok that's fair enough. rather than starting more topics, can anyone answer:
Why are there two buttons on the dash by the clocks? I know one zeros the trip, but what's the other do?
Also, when I put the key in, it displays a spanner which I can only assume it relates to a service, but it also displays the reading 11300, is this the last time it was serviced (by a dealer) or is the reading since the last service?
I get 34 in winter 37 in summer same sort of driving (110 HDi)
The button on the left dims the dash lights down, you press and hold and release when you want.
The service spanner counts down from 12000 miles and goes down to zero indicating a service due, it can lso be set to countdown from 10000. Sounds like it's recently been serviced then.

I shall take the air filter out and see what sort of state that looks to be in. If it looks clean, i'll drop a bit of the oil out and see how fresh that looks, if they look a bit mucky, I'll service it myself and leave the service spanner light as is!
What are the service intervals on these motors anyway?
12k on the hdi, but as oil and filter costs ~25 the more often the better. do my oil every 5k, fuel filter every 20k, now i am running standard air filter probably do that every 10k.
