First of all thanks guys for your previous help-
it seems that although 2 garages/mechanics diagnosed that the turbo had blown, it hadn't!

due to finances etc i stripped the engine down to change the turbo which wasnt to difficult put a recon turbo on and hoped everything would be ok, when i fired her up she was smoking- which i expected- but sounded ok(not that smooth but ok) anyway took revs up steady to 3k and basically it wouldn't go any higher and just started to smoke badly(black). if i took foot off gas while at 3K it would cut out- if i slowly let it come down to tick over it would keep running- went through a number of things to try and figure out what was causing the probs. to cut a long story short took the rocker off the top and found what looks like(and i may not be correct with the part name!!) a broken cam follower in the first valve. was just wondering if anyone in here has encountered this and if so can you just replace it straight in for the old one.

any advise and help would be muchly appreciated.
