Lol you've just bought a Vectra... coming from being a Vauxhall (twice over) owner, you're only going to experience yet more problems.GeordieBoy wrote:Get rid of the 406 and buy something decent, it will let you down big style in the end when you need it most.
Yes I am on that forum, as for Vauxhall I've owned 3 brand new Astra's and a New Vectra which I kept all for 3yrs.gRoberts wrote:Lol you've just bought a Vectra... coming from being a Vauxhall (twice over) owner, you're only going to experience yet more problems.GeordieBoy wrote:Get rid of the 406 and buy something decent, it will let you down big style in the end when you need it most.

Can't find it, sorry. Neither can I find a car survey with a French manufacturer at the bottom, any chance of a link?GeordieBoy wrote:All of them, Top Gear, Which Car, all the various car mags, ask on Parkers.co.uk about French Cars.
They is a section dedicated to them.
Geordie is not right.Captain Jack wrote:To be honest, Geordie is right - these "surveys" are the very reason I bought the Honda and not the 407. I know my D8 was ultra-reliable but D9's and later "electronic" French cars just don't fill me with confidence.
Yeah...Welton wrote:I don't think the D9 is any more trouble than the D8 at all.
...and the multiplexed wiring throughout the car which makes diagnosing electrical problems difficult. The single biggest reason why I won't buy a D9 (I prefer using a multimeter to troubleshoot as opposed to dragging an oscilloscope and power out to the car), with the second being the BSI which sorry to say has quite a high failure rate according to posts on here - almost as common as D8 blower fan failures but eeeeeeeever so slightly more pricey to fixThe only thing more complicated about the D9 is the BSi and this very very rarely gives any trouble at all.
