15 months and they still havent fixed it!!!!!

Post by RedeyeAce »

Heres the original thread
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2287&st=0&sk=t&sd=a

So here we are 15 months later and its stil sat on their forecourt.

Im in what car magazine, august edition, pg 100 Full Page!!!!

So their still denying they broke it, even tho what car and RAC say they did. The major problem I have now is the Auto Gearbox ECU has been on order since October last yr with no sign of it coming still (8 months and counting)

Ive had no courtesy car offered throughout this. Ive spent a fortune out in hiring cars, plus the mileage on the missus Avensis (pcp contract, weve already doubled the mileage we specified )

There is still no sign/indication of the part ever arriving.. The dealership have said i can buy a new car . used car and they would help me out a little toward the cost :(

Wish i never took it there (funnily enough) just wish i left the bloody cable tie on the gearstick (as the multifunction switch was the only thing wrong) looks like the new stainless exhaust was a waste of time, it was only on there 2 weeks, when the switch went. then they killed the ECU.

So does anyone know where i can get a third party auto gearbox ECU from for my lovely ole D9 v6 3.0 Auto gearbox (W reg).. to try and give me an option.. not sure what to do next... as theyre still denying they broke it.. and peugeot cant get the part anyway.. anyone with ideas???

Cheers folks,
Red

Bluddy hell, that's a nightmare! So, what's What (we love FordS & VWs) Car doing? (I can't get it here), they usually seem to get results (if only for the problems they publish  ).

Are you waiting for them to come up with the goods or have you been scouring breakers? Maybe they're waiting for you to give up and aren't really interested (like my dad's hip op's, the NHS seemed to be hoping he'd die first  ) so you really need to be doing something yourself (my dad ended up going private for one), rather than relying on these clods.

I've read the other thread, I must admit my first thought was "convert it to manual!" (it's something I've done but on a much simpler car) so I was a bit peeved to see James say it was impossible (why? Is the block different?? Is the chassis different??!)

Anyway, sue the bugger's arses off! Good luck!!

I was chatting to the parts manager in the Pug dealers in Zagreb today (as you do :cheesy: ) and I mentioned about this to him. He said he can't understand what the problem is and showed me on Service Box that none of the gearbox ECUs for the V6 are unavailable (here's a tip, no longer supplied is "NFP" on the parts diagrams) and said that, if I can get him your chassis number, he can order one here and send it to you. I'm not sure this is a good idea, if you're going to sue your garage perhaps it'd be harder to get the money back as these ECUs cost anything between about £700 and up over grand! (apparently some of the differences are due to emissions??) But then, would it be an idea to give the guy your chassis number and see if he can actually get one???

Maybe the guy's putting too much faith in what Service Box is telling him, I don't know, but he's a nice guy named Ivan ("John") and seemed very keen to give it a go.
