squeaky rear end!

Post by locoboy »

Now that i have your attention...............

i have noticed that the rear end of my 2.1td estate squeaks when i go over bumps, for example when you 'drip' down the far side of a speed bump and it also squeaks when i bounce the back end of it by hand.

Is it a common thing or not?

Last time i was under there i sisnt see any greasing points that i remember on theything let alone the rear suspension with all it s fangled bushes and link arms etc.

Any ideas on where is best to begin as its doing my head in now!

Thanks

Check the condition or the rear antirollbar bushes; they cost about £10 from memory and it's not a bad job to do. I had the same squeak & found that they had completely disintegrated!

HI,
According to the trusted (and I do) local taxi garage who run may of these cars,
The large bush in the hub where it meets the bottom wishbone can go with high mileage/heavy use.
Mine's due for this shortly. Special tool jobby they say.
I've watched them jobs in minutes that would take me days!
