CANT GET IT OUT

Post by irunmineonred »

How easy is it to get the pump out of the tank as I have tried to twist off the black ring but I cant move it and tried tapping it round with a blunt screwdriver but all that does is snap off the plastic bits, so am I doing some thing wrong ? hdi 406 est W reg

Eek! Hold on, where's Welton's post? viewtopic.php?f=1&t=5903&p=57878&hilit=pump+tool#p57878
Welton wrote:My man showed me the tool he uses to undo the ring and it's a 3-legged circular adjustable grippy heavy piece of kit that adjusts and locks onto all the different makes. I hope this doesn't leave you up a certain creek without a certain implement :(

If it helps, according to Service Box the plastic ring is either 2 or 3 quid and the seal's about a fiver. However, I did get some warning come up about a supplier for one of the rings so you should check with Pug that they can get you one before you destroy it. Be very careful of the threads!!

Is there any way you could get a strap wrench round it?

Prick?

I got called a TIT once :)

@i'monthered - Mr Earwig was responding to a spammer who posted on your thread! one of the admins has removed the spam but Earwigs post remains and appears out of context now.

He wasn't having a go at you and has never had a go at anyone on here.

It's a shame you reacted like this.
