Heavy clutch

Post by steg90 »

Hi,

Only had my pug over a week ( 1.8 MY 2000 ). The clutch feels very heavy, guess I'm getting use to it now though, it is as high up as the brake
pedal, there is no slip whatsoever with it, just seems to have to travel a long way down! Guess the clutch is hydraulic and thus self-adjusting?

Cheers,
Steve

If you've got a 1.8 you've probably got a cable clutch, not hydraulic. It's not uncommon for the cable to corrode and get stiff. WD40 may provide temporary relief but you'll want to replace it.
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

ATS did say it would be a hydraulic clutch?
