twin cooling fans

hi, the twin cooling fans on my 1.9 td (d8?) have stopped working i have checked the fuses and had the grill off and checked the 3 relays, and i think ive checked the sensor on stat housing, all seem ok is there a chance it could be a bad earth stopping them? thanks any help wud be great.

If they both stopped at the same time then that's always possible. You could measure through the fans from the relay connectors to see if they're earthed. The other possiblity is the brushes have worn out but they usually go one at a time and the remaining one pulses on and off lots.

Any chance it might be a broken or disconnected wire somehow?

Seen a few posts suggesting faulty ignition switch as a possibility, (or is just D9's)?
Might be worth a search.
