I had to replace my fan unit, about £120.00 from Eurocraparts.
Check the 40A fuses too in the engine bay near the battery as the fan takes out one of these and flags the Engine Light......oh hang on
It's the fuse with the white dot on it......

on D8s the fan fuses are in the fusebox tucked down the side of the battery, not the main engine fusebox

Yes but mine's a D9 (and Welly's)
Funny you should say about the engine management light because it did come on last week, so I knocked the ignition off and left it for a bit before starting.
Will check that fuse, thanks.
