1996 1.9 406 dt wont start

hi i have a 1996 406 dt i used it yesterday on a long trip and it was fine but when i came to it this morning it just turned over
and wouldnt start, checked glow plugs there ok,cracked open injectors no fuel getting to them so i checked fuel to pump and yes fuel getting to pump so
then cracked pipes at back off pump turnred over no fuel could this be electrical or is it the pump please help ill try anything!!!!!!! :frown:

any ideas anyone need to get it sorted asap??????

Sounds like the pump to me but I know f-all about oil burners. Some of the regulars will be along in a bit fella... :wink:

Sounds like it could be the stop solonoid or the immobiliser has packed up.

Utter ballache to get the stop valve out as you need to destroy the immobiliser unit first (and it's designed to put up a fight!)

I remember having this problem on a friends Escort diesel van, what we did was to vent the pump, and wahey it started with the first turn of the key.

been trying all morning no luck still no fuel tried easy start fires up got a little fuel not much through checked all wires seem ok i guess you carnt join wires or out lol need help please before we smash it pmsl

Look at the back of your pump (where the injector lines come out), and gently apply hammer chisel and vicegrips until it looks like this...

Then put 12v to the top of the stop solonoid.

thanks have bypassed it now was easy too no grinding at all lol thanks all
i disconnect the immobilizer took the shear bolts out the put a ignition supply to the solinoid hey presto it works now my 406 is alive thanks all and only took 30 mins :cheesy:
