1.8 Petrol Estate Fuel Filter

Post by pappalem »

Just started the routine service on my 1.8 petrol ( EW engine ) 2002 estate.
Oil change - easy.
Oil filter - piece of cake.
Top up washers - walk in the park.
Check aux belt - childs play.
Fuel filter....... Ok who's nicked the fuel filter.... It's certainly not where Mr. Haynes says it is.
Help !!!!!!! Any ideas?

If you have a fuel filter, it'll be on the driver's side underneath the car between the rear door and wheelarch. It's possible to change it without even jacking the car up

Quite a few petrol 406s don't have a fuel filter though, with it being a spec for "dusty" countries
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang
