Hi
Anybody know the part number for a idle control valve/stepper motor for one of these. My mechanic is pretty convinced that my 406 needs a new one but isn't willing to buy a 3rd party one and thinks that the Main Stealer is over charging - £100+ plus the VAT. He says he will fit one if I can source the right part. I suspect I could this myself (any tips). I've seen several sites offering new valves for £20-£35 but they all seem to reference the 1.8L unit, hence my question on part numbers.
Thanks

There's 2 types of idle control on D8s - there's the cheap little solenoids which push the main throttle butterfly open, and then there's the big hefty valves which control a second intake path. These valves do cost a fortune new - the V6 and 2.0T ones cost around £180 if memory serves
