binding front brake
Has anyone had a problem with the offside front brake seemingly applying itself after the car has started moving?
Re: binding front brake
no ive never had this problem but i have come across it on customers cars youll probably find that the calliper dust seal has split allowing the ingress of water and dirt which could ave stuck the calliper in place the only solution to this which is more than likely the cheapest isto replace the calliper you can reseal them and clean them up but its not economical compared to a new calliper hope this helps

Certainly one possibility. It's also possible that the pads are siezed in the caliper, or that the slider pins are siezed.
Re: binding front brake
Many thanks-I did change the caliper but for a S/H one but this must also have been duff! I imagined that there could have been another fault but I think you are right. Will buy a reconditioned one.

Just realised, if the caliper has been changed and the fault is still present, maybe you should change the flexible hose, there may be a fault that is allowing the fluid to go through but not return, causing the brake to stay on.....The inside breaking up.
Re: binding front brake
if you are gonna go along the road of a new caliper get it from your local motor factors than a main dealer a new caliper would cost you in the region of about £40-£80 on a exchange basis all they ask is your old one back and you get some of that cost back too
