radiators

both my fans are kapoot on my 406 but i just cant get the cowling of the radiator to change them help please

Both? Hmm, maybe yours is more like to old set up - fan retaining bolts inaccessible? The D8 version is more like this: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=4911&p=48420&hilit= ... per#p48420

yes neither seem to be working i managed to get one working by disconnecting the switch and spinning the fan to get it going but since then it has stopped again. ive tried moving the radiator but it just doesnt want to budge and neither the cowling or motors are accessible from the front for some reason

Start the engine, remove the brown connector, whack the centre of each fan with a screwdriver handle until it spins. Keep the engine running with the brown connector out for a while to run them in. This is not guaranteed to work, a bit of trial and error on my part. My fans are still working perfectly 6 months after I did this.
406 estate, 2.1TD, I fixed her, then part exchanged her for a Mercedes E300TD Avantgarde Estate.
