I recently paid someone to change a clutch due to lack of time on my part. Ever since every so often when the engine is hot and usually after a 1/2 hour or so it will fire then die when starting. It is fine when its cold and when its hot if you stop and start it soon after it is ok. I was thinking the crank sensor may have been damaged during the clutch change or is suffering from thermal demagnetisation. It has done about 150K everything else is fine lift pump works fine when turning on the ignition. anyone got any ideas cheers?
JUst remembered I forgot to let anyone who might be interested know that a new crank sensor fixed the problem figured that the half hour shutdowns when I was experiencing the problem gave heat soak a chance to cook the sensor.
