newbie questions

Hi all, still very new to 406 ownership. Very pleased with my bargain 1997 GLX 1.9td but...... didn't come with an owners manual so need to know which oil is reccomended (type and quantity) I know my old 1996 fiat didn't like synthetic of any kind but want to check what the pug needs.
Btw if anyone could point me in the direction of an owners manual or PDF download that would be great, I tried registering with peugeot online but they only have downloads for 2002 models onwards.
Feel free to offer advice on what to look out for, it's all appreciated

Hi mate

I have a 2.1 glx 1998 and I have to put in ' PART SYNTHETIC' oil and as for the amount i would suggest getting a 5lt Bottle, you will only use about 3/4 of the bottle but it's always good to have too much than not enough.
Also If you are going to drain the oil from the sump underneath i would get a new sump ring as i have found they are prone for snapping when you take them off (but that may just be me)
I will have a look on the internet and a pdf file on the ownership manual and let you know if i find one
