OIL IN BREATHER PIPES

Post by gumby6371 »

Hi, did an oil change at the weekend on my 97 1.9td GLX, while i was underneath i noticed a lot of oil splashed around, couldn't see exactly where it was coming from tho.

I also changed the spill pipes between the injectors as they were perished and allowing air into the fuel system when standing (priming it every morning before work is not fun in this cold weather) getting back to the point I took the breather pipes off for better access and noticed a coating of oil inside the pipes.

So far I've had two opinions on why; 1st - turbo sucking oil 2nd - breather pipe leak at back of engine and not cleaned properly during possible turbo change

I was also told if the turbo was sucking oil in it would drain the engine very quickly a go bang big time

any ideas ? the oil change was about my limit on engines :cheesy:

Thanks in advance

Oil inside those pipes is perfectly normal, nothing to worry about.
