2.1 Diesel RH Lower Engine Mount

Post by phaselift »

The lower mount on my step sons car has some how come unattached from the block. I suspect that the last "mechanic" :frown: didn't tighten the bolts up properly.

To fix it I might need to re-tap the holes but access is looking a bit tight!

So the questions are
a) How far up will the engine come with the other 2 mounts still in place?
b) If I discomnect the LH mount as well how far can I shove the engine over and what do I have to be carefull of not damaging?

Cheers

The engine can be thrown around quite a bit, but I would strongly recommend that if you're going to swing it about on the top mount (the pear-shaped bit), you buy a replacement and fit it straight afterwards - they're only about £20 from eurocarparts.

Just watch out for water hoses, they're a bit old and brittle by now
