Apparently but you'll probably get the eml light up for low fuel rail pressure, which'll need clearing. Or does it clear itself? Can't remember. Probably best not to run out anyway.

The 110 will self prime, the correct instruction is to turn the ignition on and off 6 times, but whenever i've changed diesel filters, the fuel flows straight away with the ignition on.
Some of the 90 will self prime, my old 2001 90 had a hand primer (very difficult to bleed).

I suppose with a 140lph in tank lift pump it should prime itself eh.

ah, arse! Better not run out wi me 90 then...lol

saying that, what with it hitting nearly 60mpg - it would be plain cheeky to let it run out. Mine said 0 miles to empty when I picked it up, had to drive 5 miles to a filling station (which it managed no prob), then I got 210 real miles (driven, not just estimated) from the £17 of diesel I put in, and was still going when I put more in again! 8)

HDi.....gotta love it :cheesy:

How many MPGees!!!

Im lucky if i get 45 out of my 90, i do 400 yds on a normal road, then a dual carriageway A road, then motorway, do 7 miles to work each way now. When i did a 30 mile trip to work i got slightly better though.

I have a 25 mile journey to work of 7 miles of A-road then the rest motorway at 70 - 75 and I get 45mpg on the computer long term average, but got 210 miles from £17 of diesel....thats more like 55mpg or summat.

The low down power delivery and turbo lag are diabolical though! Nothing at all until 2k then bam (ish), then at 3.2k it goes limp again and so I never go over 3k...

The alfa 156 JTD I had would give a wrx a fright up to 70, the HDi couldnt frighten a small puppy. :cheesy:

The engine managment on the Alfa is tuned for power but suffers economy. The HDi is vice versa. Unless you have the ultra rare 2.2 HDi 170bhp twin turbo 8)

I was watching a 159 2.4 Jtd manoeuvring out of a tight spot yesterday while I was waiting for my other half in the dentists (btw those tiny headlamps kind of remind me of a spider's eyes), and I thought my HDi was rattly

Having driven a 1.8 159 for a week, I can say that they are really a fantastic car to drive. I remember getting back into the 406 after and the steering felt so much 'looser'. The alfa is piss poor for reliability though. The one I had was less than a year old and the PAS was acting up already

yep, my alfa gave only 35mpg unless you drove like a granny, and at 3 years old it had a bucket full of small parts that had dropped off the interior, and it crackled like a transit Di at low revs, but damn, the steering was made by the Gods of Olympus. Truly epic handling, 1.5 turns lock to lock.

But...

The door buttons stuck when it rained, the computer showed gibberish after a speedbump, it was built with solid brake discs but vented-type calipers from the factory by mistake, and the brake pads flew right out when they first wore down a bit. In fact the only good thing was the power and the steering.....
