I've always had excellent service from Euros in Woking
I guess it depends on the branch!

Update on my last post. Spoke to the branch manager @ Eurocarparts and he said this should not have happened! He has offered me a full service kit, air filter, pollen filter, oil filter & fuel filter as an apology for poor service. Definately pays to complain! He did say he could order another pair of shocks in i said you are too late ordered from elsewhere(GSF) also said that this is not good if this is happening to other customers and they would lose trade does not really make people want to come back again if they get mucked about like this especially if they don't know much about car parts......

Nice one Marco! I was surprised when you said you had trouble with them, the guys at my local branch are spot on.

I'd rather live in Dorset and be stuck for car parts to be honest, I love the forest

I phoned the Stoke GSF branch yesterday lunchtime after a pair of strut bearings, they said they'd only got one, but they'd order me a pair for today. Phoned up a couple of hours ago and they have them in! I'm quite impressed, and £30 for the pair compared to about £100 at the dealer
I haven't bought them yet though. Traffic's a nightmare and I couldn't find a set of spring compressors anywhere so i'm not going to be able to attempt it tomorrow anyway
At least I've significantly improved the jerkiness of the steering wheel by switching the front and back wheels I wondered why it was only REALLY bad while I was moving... Now it's back to just being as bad as it was a couple of months ago. Win.

Hi everyone
Managed to get first spring/strut replaced. Just started the other side today. I have to say its been a pig of a job so far. I think next time i do this i will definately buy a spring reducing tool i've seen which pulls the spring in at both ends so you can get the compressors onto 4 coils if you try doing it without a bit of compression you can only get the end onto 3 coils. Just as a matter of interest how many coils do you crunch up? I went with 4 and the compressor was nearly crunched right up to the ends. I guess if you have the hydraulic ones that i've seen this job is a piece of cake press button and crunch.......
I put a jubilee clip next to the point where the foot grips the spring wire on the edge where it could slip down the spring and it did seem to work. I've got a few knackered jubilee clips now shame they can't be re-cycled they won't tighten right up now just go round and round they only seem to last one or two uses. I was trying to think of a way to re-use them but haven't come up with any ideas yet? lol The worm drive gets to a certain point of tightness then goes slack.
Off to the car shop for more jubilee clips tommorow.
