not true
you can fit a new stalk by removing the bolt that ajusts the steering up and down
this gives you enough room to slide it out
well thats how i did it on my d8

No, john's right omega, the steering wheel has to come off on the D9. Not difficult to do John, but the COM2000 unit itself can be expensive to buy, might be able to get a new one for around £100 off ebay or they're about £140 from the stealer. Mine's been doing the "indicates left on it's own after turning right" thing for years  . I've learned to compensate

Does anybody know or can tell me how to replace the offside lower ball joint?

one of failures was offside front suspension arm has excessive play in a ball joint (2.4.g.3)

is this an easy job and how much would parts be?

thanks

Just an update, ive noticed theres a nice little earth strap connected to that arm that supports the inet manifold so looks like the battery will have to come off anyhow!! grrr. May aswell do the indicator stalk at the same time! lol
