I guess that's what you get when you buy poverty-spec cars - no fancy bits and pieces
2002 (D9) Peugeot 406 Coupe SE, 2.2 litre Petrol. Scarlet Red/Rouge Ecarlate/Rosso Scarlatto. Black Leather interior. SOLD
2008 (E60 LCI) BMW 525i M-Sport, 3.0 litre Petrol. Carbonschwarz Metallic. Black Dakota Leather and Myrtlewood interior.
The 2.0 and 2.2 would create more induction noise so your car gets away without one. But don't be disheartened I'm sure your car has lots of other lovely attributes to speak of
Cars in my care:
2021 Kia Spottage 1.6 Pez Turbo Dual Clutch Gearbox Trickery
2013 Renner Twingo - donkey work

Indeed. The 3.0 V6 doesn't even have one because the inlet manifold is (quoting a Peugeot document here) "designed to ... minimise induction roar".
Hear that? ROAR!
Does a damn good job though! You don't even get much extra noise revving the engine with a bare throttle body other than the loud sucking sound you always get when the throttle's opened wide...
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang
