Needless to say the engine cover has just gone back on.
I changed the fuel filter on mine last year, and one of the pipes broke off
However upon inspection it had been broke before
Me and my mate bonded it back on, but it was always in back of my mind that I was just about to drive from the midlands down to Cornwall, around 300 miles, so I went to GSF and bought a new housing complete with new filter and exchanged it as a full unit

The unit would probably been alright as it was that Q bond we used which is top notch, but for me, it was worth £54 for piece of mind not to sit on the hard shoulder of the M5

So I can appreciate what your saying mate
