im going to leave the diesel conversion alone, My boss has just landed me with a big refurb job so iwont have time to do anything,

been speaking to a chap who messes with pugs, im going to drop the 306 off with him for a week or so
he rekons he can get abit more power out the tiny 1.6 lump., hes got a few bits lying around differnt cam shaft etc.
not sure what differnce that will make but iwill let him have aplay with it,

Could be a bargain for someone though, only £150 at the moment and although it's advertised as Spares/Repair, there appears to be very little wrong with it.

update, ive got the 306 back shes been cammed up,

and what a differnce,

sounded abit tappy at first but after agood run,its settled down,

just got to find someone to give it a map now, and then il leave it alone, methinks,

People moan about the 1.6's yet there is loads of tuning options for them!

Mainly because the 106 GTi used the same engine so most engine mods are a direct fit.

Yes your right bailes,
theres plenty of options for the 1.6 and even the little 1.4s.

the uprated cam shaft and kit gives them an extra 23 horses.
plus remap shouid give an extra 10 or so,

I thought the 106 GTi was a different engine? The GTi & the Saxo VTS were 16v while the 306 is only 8v. Is it not the same engine as the Saxo VTR in the 1.6 306?
