Well, the guy at Volvo said it was the central locking switch inside the driver side door. Once the doors had been locked with the remote the locks would keep locking as in the actuator would not stop locking all the doors. Since my grandmother only goes out 2 times a week and church on Sundays the car would have a lot of time to drain the battery.

Another way is to take out the battery and connect it to a battery charger. Then open it (if it has removable portals on top)If you see bubbles raising from any of the cells, then its become a dud. Better of replacing it totally.
