So couldn't get to the inlet bolts so just did the doser and... Oil is still coming there any more ideas

O no oil on top now after second cleaning hoever going up a hill i still get buring oil smell but i can rag it and its fine - im so confused

Spoke to pug dealer and they say 5\40bully synth putting 10\40 semi wouldn't cause the leak would it?

No, I wouldn't have thought so. I ran my HDi 90 on 10/40 semi-synth for over 100k with no issues.
(And yes, I did change it occasionally).

On thursday i'm hiring a ramp. I guess we'll know more. Back of the engine where the exhaust manifold is and hope that this fixtures. I'll keep an eye on top of the engine . Any other suggestions

I have also noticed that oil seems to b e gather on the airdoser side still a tiny bit but still there between the first silver block and the next

I guess that could be just stuff I couldn't clean off however the burning oil smell returned. It is only when going up hill and have to put my foot down. On the flat it's fine

Maybe you've got some oil spillage on the exhaust / turbo and when it's working hard it get's hot then you get the smell?

Something dripping on something hot when your car is at that angle, the rest of the time it just misses it?

either way its fate has now been sealed im fixing the fan and trying to fix the oil leak then its going up for sale - it is going wrong every other month

Interior fan is an easy fix - needs a new regulator (resistor pack in old money).

It will be behind the dash in the centre - you can get to it from the passenger side (a bit snuggly there but not too bad). 10 minutes to replace.

I to replace the resistor on the board about 5 months ago. Creative actually gone again? Looks to be coming from the top gear engine running down possibly be rocker cover gasket i guess if the cam gasket the next block down captain jack i know you replaced one before your old car how much does it cost and would you be able to help
