ello again peeps.... 1 thing i have noticed... i swear my car used to idel at around 500rpm.... now its sitting around the 1000rpm mark..... any possible reasons why... considering what they just replaced? (cluthc master ... slave + hydraulics)
by mbell666 - They should have done it when they did the clutch. You have to have the gear box out of the car to access the clutch, so they need to drain the gear box and remove drive shafts etc.
so i shouldnt need to change the g/box oil.... even though they havent done the clutch its self... just all the above... or is that all linked in with it??

cheers peeps for the info.

Being an M reg Escort then that sort of driving will last, oooo, 5 minutes at the most

My garages' 'loaner' is an M reg Vaux Ashtray estate. A true shitter. I feel like making a sign in the window saying "this is not my car it's the garages"

If they had to do the clutch plate they would have removed the gear box and hence drained its fluid. if they have just done the hydrolics then they wouldn't have had to take the gear box off (and not changed the fluid).

The escort is pretty rubbish, no power steering 1.4 or 1.6 (slow what ever it is). Just makes the 406 feel so good.

At the minute everything that could go wrong is going wrong so i don't think i'll be driving it like i stole it. I'd probably would get arrested for stealing it! I just give it a thrashing (you don't get much choice if you actually want to move) up and down the a roads to work.
