A 3 legged spider is the tool for oil filters.Push it onto the bottom of the filter,then turn & it grips into the filter.Connect your ratchet & undo.Great bit of kit.I got mine in Machine Mart(uk)abbout £8 i thinks.

I agree, it's much better to mistreat snakes - hence I use a Boa
