Re: HOW MANY MILES HAS YOUR PUG COVERED?
i agree with that, 800k is a massive amountmjb wrote:Presuming it's a 1999 D9, that's over 1500 miles a week, EVERY week for 10 years
Surely it's got to be the result of at least one new instrument cluster being fitted and mileages being added together

Re: HOW MANY MILES HAS YOUR PUG COVERED?
So how did it work out ? And how is the pug now? ... my Sat Nav is now dead and replaced by a removable Navman Spirit for much less than the cost to fix!welshviking wrote: Well my Multi function display knackered up on me, it was so bad it was unreadable and as it was the one with the sat nav sensor on it the cost is a lot more than a standard one. I managed to get one but still not arrived either due to the postal strike or the guy did not send it out when he said he did, apart from a bad connection on my tow bar which had the brake lights on when the normal lights were on the electrics have been fine (touch wood, fingers crossed etc etc)

My pug has just passed 150,000 miles now and apart from the EGR warning light ... I have removed the EGR and cleaned it up, changed the vacuum pipe so it must be the solenoid .. need to get to the Pug garage to order one.

225,000 miles here, rising by 400 to 500 miles a week, with only a ticky injector and notchy 3rd gear - not bad I suppose lol

Re: HOW MANY MILES HAS YOUR PUG COVERED?
I USED TO RUN A TAXI FIRM AND ONE OF THE DRIVERS HAD A 406 2 LITRE HDI 110 ESTATE ON A 97 PLATE AND HE RAN IT BETWEEN THE TAXI OFFICE AND MANCHESTER AIRPORT ON A DAILY BASIS 7 DAYS PER WEEKT AT 6 TRIPS PER DAY. HE HAD IT SERVICED EVERY 4 WEEKS BY THE LOCAL PEUGEOT DEALERS AND WHEN IT HIT 500K HE WAS IN THE LOCAL PAPER PICTURED WITH THE HEAD HONCHO FROM THE DEALERS AND WAS GIVEN AN AWARD FOR THE HIGHEST MILEAGE PEUGEOT THEY HAD EVER SEEN. ESSENTIALLY IT WAS A MARKETING PLOY.. HE WAS IN HIS 60'S AND IT WAS THE WORSE THING HE COULD HAVE DONE....EVERY YEAR AS A SELF EMPLOYED DRIVER YOU FILL YOUR OWN TAX RETURN IN AND IT DOESNT TAKE LONG FOR THE TAX MAN TO WORK OUT OFF THE MILEAGE HOW MANY TRIPS YOU HAVE DONE TO THE AIRPORT VERSUS HOW MANY YOU HAVE CLAIMED TO HAVE DONE! HE HAD A KNOCK ON HIS DOOR A FEW WEEKS LATER AND WAS QUESTIONED..... SAD ENDING BUT 500K IS POSSIBLE IF YOU DRIVE THEM RIGHT AND PLENTY OF SERVICES!
