your not going mad Stevie, the original post was about Veg oil, but the new chap AFK was on about Bio, but only had to read back through the thread to see the answer multiple times

I was trying to highlight the fact that the question he was asking had been answered a few times, not trying to highlight your growing senility and wandering mind :P

P.S I reckon im on my man period, my posts seem to be of the pointed and cynical type lately, I must try and beat this out of myself :supafrisk:

apologies to anybody i manage to pi$$ of or have managed to pi$$ off, its not usually like me

More tolerant of the cold then too - add 3ml white spirit per litre of veg oil.

A wee cheeky scheme I had, was a plastic heating oil tank mounted in the rear garden.....costs 35p to 50p (may be more now) a litre for white heating fuel (diesel) - its NOT legal to use any alternative oil of any kind as road fuel without paying fuel duty on it (including veg) - just getting that in before its pointed out - but the fake heating oil tank holds 1000 litres, at £400 a fill....and worked perfectly in my diesel van. I didnt have oil heating btw... :supafrisk:

Okay, you got some important stuff REALLY wrong there.

1. White spirit, totally illegal to use this in a road vehicle in any way shape or form. Cheaper to use petrol anyway. Illegal as in big fine & possible loss of car.

2. Duty payments. As a private individual you can LEGALLY use upto 2,500L per rolling 12 month period before you have to pay any fuel duty. So the typical user would be running duty free all year. Legally.
absolutely right mate , its a win-win situation , money saved on duty pays for filters anyway and still saves money, go-go bio-diesel . I do it with my 406 and 306 DTurbo

On another subject, you know Morrison's sopped flogging that B30 bio-diesel? Certainly here at Southampton anyway, which is a pain cos it was doing my MPG a world of good. Grr.

wot? 5% bio in fossil diesel , its not bio its a con mate

No mods, be prepared to change the fuel filter a couple of times as the heavier veg oil with scoop up the crap from the bottom of your tank.

Currently running cleaned used oil, but if that's hard to find i pop to cash n carry and buy 20L for just under 15 quid. Even at full price it's nearly 50p/L cheaper than diesel.

Be sure you've got good glowplugs for frosty mornings (got a few months before that is a worry again anyway)
I with you Stevie , me and mate use old veggi properly converted to bio, costs me about 60p a litre run 306 for 3 years and current 406 for 4 months so far (234k on clock)
