one thing in noticed about the sub £1000 rangies, none seemed to be completley flaw free.
but even so not all are very old, or very flaky:

and the newest rangie, not as affordable

Im looking at spending about 3-4k on the next one so hopefully i can find something reasonable when the time comes, but im sure the prices will continue to drop post winter so im willing to wait, if anything it may well be may before i do get one as im back in the uk then anyway for a christening and it makes sense to use the excuse of having to be there anyway, to buy something.

Im not gonna be working on the Disco till the weather warms up here so whilst its working it will stay as the daily driver. unless i see something i just cant resist of course

and Steve, hopefully i wont be needing the filler the bodies dont rust, only the tail gate and maybe the chassis  if i get a dog/lemon.

Im a landy man sadly,

i do rate the big toyotas and big nissans but its more than just wanting or needing a big 4x4,
In the past i have had a series 3 88 pick up, a 3.9 RR classic, a 110 county and now the disco.

Given the choice and money being no issue i would be in new disco 3 or RR(not a sport tho) but it will be a long time till i can afford a new one :(

and i say sadly in the opening line as its a bit like having a cross to bare, but then pug ownership can feel a bit like that to at times

land rover ownership is more than owning a car, its a full time commitment to keep the buggers going

landy ownership would be a full time commitment i bought a defender 90 to try and turn a profit, but i discovered a raft of problems, including severe rust on the chasis, both rear wheel bearings were shot and the 4x4 didnt work. The big toyotas are great off roaders, ive taken the hilux off road, although my uncle prefers it not to be used that way, but anyhow it lugged on and on no trouble, and in the cold weather it started instantly, its got 2 batteries thats how reliable them things are.
