Tried similar stuff today, from Green Star, which should be Wynn's professional line here in Ita. I had a 500ml can so more than double what wynns sells (200ml), thus I did use only approx half of it.

At the beginning some black smoke, revs started to wobble, then after some more shots and time it started smoking no more, so I stopped. No noticeable results so far really, maybe a little smoother from low down and idle but could be placebo. I hope it fixes my cold start rattling and smoking issue, we'll see when temperatures go down again.

Looks like a bad idea to me because:
  • running with the air filter off seems a bit risky,
  • all that crap has to go through the engine and cat
  • you should make a how to :cheesy:
However, I am currently enjoying a bottle of wynn's diesel injector cleaner
Whatever caused that over reving, it wasn't the egr cleaner. We use it at work lots of times, and it has never done that.
I used it on my 307 got the Knock, but i did read the instructions not to rev higher than 2000rpm, http://www.wynns.uk.com/Product.aspx?p= ... PRO_DIESEL

the knock didn't last long. Might try to remove the EGR on my 406 to clean.

Yeah true, dont rev it too hard when spraying the egr cleaner in,
engine dont like it much, :(

mine smoked for amin or two, and then went back to normal,
ive not noticed anyimprovement after using it, but ive just used it to make sure egr is clean and not sticking,

Not sure my cleaner got to the EGR, the intake pipe to the 307 was so far away from the 307 might try to get it out to clean or just say cock and give it to the garage. The EGR on the 307 is tucked away, on the 406 i can see it! The 307 i cannt!

On my 306 DT (same 1.9 XUD engine I believe )I unplugged the electric plug and ran it with the damn egr closed for 6 years with no ill effects , actually ran better

there must be a plug on the 406 but where ? I never could find one and i was told it was on bulkhead but no sign
306 was just behind battery case .

I have a funny feeling the EGR on the 406 would have to be removed from the ECU much like a FAP.
I played with mine and the car went into limp mode with *BEEP* Anti-Pollution Fault quite happily displayed on the MFD.

So is there a plug for it like the 306 engine or what ? plus with my prvious car i ran on bio which tends to clean things out anyway, well it gave "Norma " , a hell of an improvement ,i actually got to hear turbo whistle for the first time
